Sun Prairie High School's Class of 2004 graduate Lindsay Hagens has been selected as the recipient of the 2023-24 "Distinguished Alumni/Wall of Success" award by the Sun Prairie Area School District. Lindsay's impressive journey from her school days to her current successes has earned her this prestigious recognition.
Lindsay's educational background includes earning her Associate’s and Bachelor’s Degrees from Madison College and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, respectively. Despite not always being the most cooperative student, she acknowledges the teachers who believed in her and pushed her to strive for excellence during her time at Prairie Phoenix Academy.
After graduating, Lindsay ventured into entrepreneurship and has now established herself as a renowned real estate developer in Wisconsin. Her projects, such as the recently built Jannah Village, showcase her dedication to creating inclusive and sustainable communities through quality housing and financial literacy empowerment.
Moreover, Lindsay's philanthropic initiatives extend beyond borders, with a focus on helping the people of Ghana, her husband's homeland. She is actively involved in constructing a new hospital and school in the region, along with a 16-unit apartment complex to provide modern and affordable housing options. Additionally, Lindsay's local community support efforts, such as coordinating home rehabilitation for an elderly veteran, demonstrate her commitment to uplifting others.
Superintendent Brad Saron expressed the district's pride in honoring Lindsay with the award, stating, "We are proud to honor Lindsay as this year’s Distinguished Alumni/Wall of Success recipient." Lindsay's remarkable achievements in entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and advocacy serve as an inspiration for all those aiming to make a positive impact and foster thriving communities.
Lindsay will be formally recognized at a special school board meeting, and the District will arrange for her to engage with students across all three high schools to share her inspiring story.
