The University of Wisconsin-Madison Celebrates 175th Anniversary with Community Open House

The University of Wisconsin–Madison celebrated its 175th Anniversary with a Community Open House, showcasing more than 90 events for visitors to enjoy. On the first day of the event, visitors were welcomed to campus with various activities such as building things at the College of Engineering Makerspace site, witnessing cheese-making at Babcock Dairy Plant, and participating in a First Nations Cultural Landscape Tour.

Some attendees focused on the science aspect of the open house, engaging in activities like exploring the Water Science & Engineering Lab to understand how to create waves or discussing data science with faculty and students, a rapidly growing field of study at UW–Madison.

In a post shared by UW–Madison Engineering, the excitement of the event was captured as visitors immersed themselves in the different activities offered on campus. Similarly, the UW Center For Limnology shared a post highlighting the engaging conversations about data and technology taking place at the Data Science Institute during the open house.
