The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District has announced the appointment of Katie Kavanaugh as the new 4K/Early Childhood Principal. Ms. Kavanaugh, with over 13 years of experience in education, including 3 years as a school psychologist and 10 years as an administrator, is set to bring her expertise and passion to her new role.

Ms. Kavanaugh expressed her excitement about joining the district, stating, "I am thrilled to be joining the Middleton-Cross Plains team as the 4K/Early Childhood Principal." She emphasized her dedication to working with young learners and her strong belief in the value of early childhood education and intervention.

With a background as the Pupil Services and Special Education Director/School Psychologist at the Barneveld School District and previous experience in the Madison Metropolitan School District, Ms. Kavanaugh is well-prepared to lead the District's early childhood programming. She holds degrees in Human Development and Family Studies, Educational Psychology, and School Psychology, along with licenses as a Director of Special Education/Pupil Services and Principal in Wisconsin.

In her personal statement, Ms. Kavanaugh highlighted her commitment to every child's right to learn and succeed, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe and nurturing environment for students. She stated, "Every child that enters a school building needs to feel safe and nurtured."

The district expressed their anticipation of Ms. Kavanaugh's contributions in supporting the growth and development of their youngest learners. They invited the community to welcome Katie Kavanaugh to the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District and look forward to the positive impact she will bring to the students and staff.
