The City of Madison has been recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA for an impressive 35 years, with this year marking the 19th year of receiving the Growth Award. Ian Brown, the City of Madison Forester, expressed gratitude for the acknowledgment, stating, "We are honored to be recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation with these awards."

Brown highlighted the dedicated efforts of the city's arborists, many of whom hold ISA certifications, in maintaining around 100,000 trees along Madison roadways. He emphasized, "We are proud stewards of this remarkable community asset."

Furthermore, Brown attributed the diverse and flourishing tree canopy in Madison to the city's longstanding commitment to prioritizing trees. He credited the passion and support shown by Madison residents for enabling the growth and resilience of the urban forest, ensuring its health for future generations. Brown added, "We are proud to reflect these Madison values in our work every day."
