Asher Torbeck, a veteran with a rich background in law enforcement and security training, has been appointed as the new safety and security coordinator for the Middleton Cross Plains Area School District (MCPASD). Torbeck is set to assume his role in July.
Torbeck's extensive experience is expected to be invaluable in ensuring the safety of students, staff, families, and facilities within the district. He embarked on his career path after feeling a call to service following the events of 9/11. This led him to enlist in the U.S. Army as an infantryman, where he served for seven years and completed two deployments to Iraq.
After concluding his military service, Torbeck transitioned into law enforcement. Over 15 years, he accumulated significant experience in this field. For a decade, he played a crucial role in training schools, churches, and businesses on how to respond effectively to active threat situations.
His law enforcement career includes four years as a School Resource Officer and six years as a Sergeant. During this time, he developed expertise in various law enforcement topics through over 12 years as an instructor.
"I have always had a strong drive to protect others," said Torbeck. "This led me into the military and law enforcement, but I really found my passion as a School Resource Officer. I am very excited to get back into the schools to use my training and experience toward keeping students and staff safe."
Outside of work, Torbeck enjoys spending quality time with his family. He and his wife are parents to two children who participate in numerous sports and activities including hockey, football, lacrosse, dance, gymnastics, and soccer.
The MCPASD community is invited to join us in welcoming Asher Torbeck to our team. His commitment to safety and protecting others will be a tremendous asset as we continue our efforts to provide a secure environment for learning and growth.
