The Bikeways contract aims to address small improvements and repairs within the City of Madison's bike network. Planners and residents have identified three projects as crucial for enhancing bike accessibility, safety, and comfort.

Starting on Monday, June 10, traffic control changes will occur at Seminole Highway near the UW Arboretum entrance. The project includes a 10-foot shared-use path connecting Manitou Way with McCaffrey Drive, the western entrance to the UW Arboretum, and installing a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) pedestrian crossing. Seminole Highway will remain open in both directions throughout the project, which is expected to conclude in July.

On Monday, June 24, W Lakeside Street from Gilson Street to Rowell Street will be closed. Plans include an off-street, two-way cycle track on the south side of W Lakeside Street connecting two sides of the Bay Creek Neighborhood in south Madison. The project also involves removing parking on the block, pavement replacement, and new curb and gutter installation. W Lakeside Street will remain closed except for local traffic during construction. Sidewalks will stay open on at least one side for the project's duration, anticipated to conclude by mid-July.

Beginning Monday, July 22, Elver Park Path between McKenna Boulevard and South Gammon Road and a section of Greentree Park Path north of McKenna Boulevard will undergo repairs. The plans include constructing a new culvert at the north end of Elver Park Path to improve drainage. Both paths may be closed during some or all of the construction period. Work is expected to finish by early August.
