Community members are encouraged to watch the Board of Education meetings online through MCPASD TV. During the October 28, 2024 meeting, several organizations were recognized for their contributions to district schools. These include Weed Man Lawn Care - Middleton, SSM Health At Work, CESA 6 and Josh Borzick, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Pre-Emergency Planning, LLC.
The meeting also celebrated the Middleton High School Cardinal Marching Band's first state championship win at the WSMA State Marching Band Championships on October 19th. The band scored 86.650 under the direction of Eric Rothacker, Doug Brown, and Michael Ver Voort.
A public hearing was conducted regarding Clark Street Community School's request for a waiver from a Wisconsin Guaranteed Admission Program requirement. The waiver was approved by the School Board to allow competency-based student ranking instead of GPA-based ranking.
Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue acknowledged fall sports teams' achievements in her report and expressed optimism for future successes.
The Wisconsin Student Assessment System (WSAS) Board Report highlighted that MCPASD students consistently outperform state averages in various assessments but noted persistent achievement gaps among certain student groups.
Jerrud Rossing and Erin Wheeler presented the proposed operational budget of $127,082,252 for 2024-25 with a tax levy of $91,157,215.
The purchase of an electric school bus was approved by the Board as part of environmental initiatives supported by an EPA grant covering part of its cost.
Finally, a Directed Engineering Study by McKinstry Essention LLC was approved to evaluate solar PV design at five schools and analyze geothermal HVAC system feasibility at Sauk Trail Elementary as part of sustainability efforts.
