Middleton High's band wins first state championship

Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue recently visited Pope Farm Elementary School, engaging with students in Ms. Davis’ STEAM class to discuss their experiences in the Summer Academy. The STEAM program integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics to foster creativity and innovation.

Ms. Davis is committed to encouraging girls to explore STEAM fields through hands-on projects that inspire curiosity and creativity. During her visit, Dr. Monogue spoke with students about an exciting project they are working on in their STEAM Encore class.

In other news, the Middleton High School Cardinal Marching Band achieved a historic victory by winning their first state championship at the Wisconsin School Music Association State Marching Band Championships. They also received awards for Best Musical Performance and Best Color Guard for the third consecutive year.

The Middleton Meals Matter team collaborated with WayForward for a record-breaking food drive on Halloween, collecting 4,150 pounds of food in one day.

MCPASD continues its sustainability efforts by securing a $200,000 grant for an electric school bus addition to its fleet. The district has partnered with McKinstry Essention, LLC for a sustainability study exploring solar panels at five schools and geothermal HVAC at Sauk Trail Elementary.

The Wisconsin Student Assessment System results show MCPASD ranking among the top in Dane County, surpassing state averages in English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

On October 28th, the Board approved the 2024-25 budget prioritizing high-quality education while ensuring fiscal responsibility.

November saw various celebrations including Native American Heritage Month and National School Psychologist Week. Dr. Monogue expressed gratitude towards MCPASD staff: “Your dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment create a safe and welcoming environment for our students.”
