Madison College is set to host the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) for Region 3 from January 7 to 11, 2025. This event celebrates theater, creativity, and collaboration.
As one of the few two-year colleges hosting this festival, Madison College aims to highlight its facilities and commitment to the arts in Madison, Wisconsin.
The KCACTF is a national program that recognizes talent in various theater disciplines. The Region 3 Festival will display the work of students and faculty from Midwest colleges and universities.
Attendees will engage with professional artists through workshops, performances, and networking opportunities. A keynote session by Brian Quijada, an Emmy-nominated playwright and actor known for works like "Where Did We Sit on the Bus?" will be a highlight. Quijada's achievements include a Jeff Award in Solo Performance and Sound Design.
Other guest artists include A.J. Links C.S.A., an Emmy-nominated casting director; Jeff Mosser from Milwaukee Repertory Theater; Hannah Joyce from Playwrights' Center; and Jing Zhao, a sound designer originally from Singapore.
“Madison College is honored to host KCACTF once again,” said Miranda Hawk, department chair of theatre and speech at Madison College. “Our college’s dedication to the arts, combined with our welcoming campus and the vibrant city of Madison, makes this an unforgettable experience for our students, as well as the students, faculty, and guest artists from around the region.”
