Middleton-Cross Plains Area Schools celebrate achievements across various programs

Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue recently visited Northside Elementary School as part of the December episode of "Monthly Update with Monogue." The visit focused on initiatives to welcome new students, including a "Welcome Wall" created by former Nurse Julie, which features the names of new students. During her visit, Dr. Monogue spoke with two students, Anne and Mateo, about their experiences at Northside.

Middleton High School has introduced a new mural at its south entrance, created by sophomore Mirielle Spahn. The mural displays the word “welcome” in various languages spoken within the school community.

The Middleton High School Theatre celebrated a milestone with four sold-out performances of "Beauty and the Beast," marking their first since 2016. The production involved 90 students and included ASL accessibility.

MCPASD athletes were recognized for their achievements this fall. The Girls Swim & Dive Team won back-to-back state championships, securing all three relays at state for the first time in program history. The Boys Soccer Team won their second consecutive Division 1 State Championship, becoming the first public school to do so since 1988. Additionally, the Boys Volleyball Team defended their state title and finished as Division 1 State Runner-Up.

The Middleton Meals Matter team continues to support the community by collecting food donations. Volunteers shared personal motivations during Thanksgiving interviews.

As part of Career Exploration Month, Brian Barrett from Promega Corporation spoke to Middleton High School’s Accounting 1 class about career opportunities in accounting.

Two district schools received grants from the Green Bay Packers Foundation: Glacier Creek Middle School plans playground updates while Park Elementary will add flexible classroom furniture.

Music educators from MCPASD attended the Wisconsin Music Educators Association Conference to share knowledge and enhance student musical education.

Yadiris Sanchez joined MCPASD as District Registrar, bringing experience in education and family support.

Enrollment for MCPASD’s 4K program opens on January 15, 2025. The play-based curriculum aims to foster confidence and development in young learners.

Clark Street Community School students Everest and Ruby participated in a workshop panel at the Aurora Institute Symposium in New Orleans, sharing innovative ideas on viewing learners beyond grades.

Tracy Dahl's sixth-grade class at Glacier Creek Middle School learned about Ancient India through yoga and meditation lessons connecting them with India's culture meaningfully.
