Twelve faculty members have been selected to receive the 2025 Distinguished Teaching Awards, an accolade established in 1953 to honor outstanding educators at the university. The award ceremony is scheduled for April 15 at 5 p.m. in the Great Hall of Memorial Union. A link for RSVPs will be available on the awards website in February. Additional information regarding the achievements of the honorees will be shared in a future issue of Inside UW.
The recipients of this year's awards are as follows:
- Claus Andersen, associate professor in German, Nordic & Slavic+, College of Letters & Science, has received the William H. Kiekhofer Teaching Award.
- Paul Barford, professor of computer sciences, College of Letters & Science, has been awarded the Chancellor’s Teaching Innovation Award.
- Kerri Coon, assistant professor in bacteriology, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, has earned the Emil H. Steiger Teaching Award.
- Theresa Delgadillo, professor of English and Chican@/Latin@ Studies, College of Letters & Science, is honored with the Chancellor’s Inclusive Excellence Teaching Award.
- Katie Eklund, associate professor in educational psychology at the School of Education, is recognized with the Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award.
- Jennifer Gaddis, associate professor in civil society & community studies at the School of Human Ecology, receives the Wisconsin Idea Teaching Award.
- Eric Hoyt, professor in communication arts at College of Letters & Science also earns a Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award.
- Paul Roback from Ozaukee County Community Development Institute Extension is acknowledged with the Van Hise Outreach Teaching Award.
- Adrian Treves from Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies receives another Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award.
- Amy Trowbridge from forest & wildlife ecology at College of Agricultural and Life Sciences also gains a Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award.
- Zachary Wickens from chemistry at College of Letters & Science is similarly awarded a Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award.
