Madison College is spearheading an initiative to enhance inclusivity in higher education through the THRIVE Conference, scheduled for March 28 at the Truax Campus. The event will center on the theme "Empowering Education to Grow, Develop, and Succeed," with a focus on creating supportive environments that uplift academic community members, particularly those from underrepresented groups.

Educators, administrators, students, and advocates are invited to contribute by submitting proposals for presentations or speeches by February 10, 2025. Key areas of interest include retention and success initiatives, strategies for navigating minoritized communities, practices fostering belonging and well-being, and empowering diverse voices.

Dr. Michele Turner of Madison College noted the institution's commitment to promoting equity-based practices within both its walls and the broader higher education community. The conference is supported by Madison College's Office of Community Impact and Institute for Equity and Transformational Change (IETC), which funds research projects examining classroom dynamics to devise equitable solutions.

The THRIVE Conference does not require a registration fee. For proposal submissions or more information about attending the conference: https://forms.office.com/r/w5i8De2K7Y or https://forms.office.com/r/ZJVfEp4DaH. Inquiries can be directed to ThriveConference@madisoncollege.edu.
