The collaboration between Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) and University of Wisconsin (UW) Athletics is proving beneficial for second-grade students by fostering an interest in literacy. Throughout the semester, UW-Madison student-athletes have been engaging with elementary students at Community Schools as reading role models.
Recently, schools were able to merge their enthusiasm for sports and reading during the UW-Madison Women's Basketball Education Day.
