Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin has announced the initiation of a new strategic framework for the University of Wisconsin–Madison. This development aims to define the university's future goals and priorities as the current framework, established in 2009 and updated every five years, concludes in 2025.

In a message to students, faculty, and staff, Chancellor Mnookin expressed confidence in shaping a "remarkable vision" despite uncertainties in higher education. She emphasized that this process would build on past insights and experiences shared by the university community over the last two and a half years.

A Visioning Committee has been formed to lead this effort. The committee consists of 30 members from various segments of the university community, including faculty, staff, students, and alumni. It will be co-chaired by Provost Charles Isbell and Professor Lauren Papp. Their task is to draft initial concepts for the new strategic framework.

The process will involve broad engagement across campus, with opportunities for feedback and discussion. Chancellor Mnookin encourages participation through surveys or discussions to ensure that diverse perspectives contribute to the vision.

Chancellor Mnookin thanked those involved in this leadership role and acknowledged the ongoing contributions of all members of UW–Madison.
