Brandon Maly, chairman of the Dane County Republicans, said that President Trump's address to Congress powerfully championed a vision for a stronger, self-reliant nation driven by government accountability and America-first policies. Maly made his statement to Madison Reporter on March 6.

"With a commanding presence, President Trump laid out a vision for a prosperous and self-sufficient America, focusing on economic revival, government accountability, and easing the burden of inflation," said Maly. "Despite the performative outrage and interruptions from Democrats, their resistance failed to obscure the undeniable strength of his message. His agenda—centered on reducing federal overreach and making life more affordable for ordinary citizens—reflects an unshakable commitment to national renewal. As America faces unprecedented challenges, Trump's leadership offers a steady hand and a clear path forward."

According to Fox News, President Trump delivered his first major speech to Congress in his second term, outlining his administration’s priorities. He highlighted initiatives such as federal downsizing under Elon Musk and addressed concerns over inflation, particularly rising grocery costs. The speech prompted partisan reactions, with Republicans applauding while Democrats remained seated, holding signs reading "False." Trump cited examples of government waste and concluded with a call to action, expressing optimism for the country’s future and declaring that a "golden age of America" was beginning.

In a March 5 post on its website, the White House reported on the reception of President Trump’s address before Congress. The White House said that during his first address to a joint session of Congress in his second term, President Donald J. Trump delivered a powerful, masterful speech highlighting the remarkable accomplishments of his first six weeks in office and charting a course for four years of prosperity. The address received widespread acclaim, with 76% of Americans approving of the speech according to a CBS poll, while a CNN poll showed 69% had a positive reaction.

Maly is the Chairman of the Dane County Republicans and was first elected to the role in 2023. According to the organization's website, he is focused on boosting Republican voter turnout, growing the Party’s membership, and communicating the Party’s positions on issues that matter to Dane County voters.
