Madison College is set to host the inaugural THRIVE Conference on March 28 at its Truax Campus. The event, open to educators, administrators, students, and advocates, aims to promote growth, resilience, and inclusivity within academic settings.

The conference will feature Dr. Kevin Lawrence Henry Jr., an award-winning scholar focused on race and education policy complexities. He will deliver the keynote address under the theme "Empowering Educators to Grow, Develop, and Succeed." This theme emphasizes creating supportive environments for all individuals, particularly those from underrepresented groups.

Participants will have opportunities to engage in discussions about retention strategies and practices that foster a sense of belonging while addressing barriers faced by minoritized communities. Breakout sessions will include contributions from leading administrators and scholars across K-12 and higher education sectors.

An additional highlight is the “Books, Bites, and Dialogue” event. Attendees can connect with editors Dr. Crystasany Turner and Dr. Meghan Green as they amplify Black mother scholars' voices. Dr. Keymani Alford will also share insights from his memoir during this session.

The conference is sponsored by Madison College's Office of Community Impact alongside the Institute for Equity and Transformational Change (IETC). The IETC supports research aimed at improving classroom dynamics through equity-based solutions.

There is no registration fee for attending the THRIVE Conference; however, registrations must be completed by March 16 via their official website or provided link.
