The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District (MCPASD) has announced the appointment of Kenneth (Ken) Metz as the new Director of Secondary Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. This change will take effect on July 1, 2025.
Metz has been a part of Glacier Creek Middle School for 21 years, beginning his tenure as a sixth-grade teacher in 2003. Over time, he has held various leadership roles such as Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and Principal. His work at the school has been marked by dedication to student success and innovative learning approaches.
Before joining MCPASD, Metz's career began in Jefferson City, Missouri as a second-grade teacher. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Iowa State University and a Master of Education Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University. He holds licenses as a Teacher, Principal, and Director of Instruction.
In communication with staff members, Metz shared his gratitude towards the Glacier Creek community: “It has been an incredible honor to serve our school community for the past 21 years, and I am truly grateful for the support, trust, and partnership we have shared.”
Metz also reassured that Glacier Creek remains well-supported: “I will always hold a special place in my heart for Glacier Creek, and I look forward to continuing to work together in this new capacity. I am confident that Glacier remains in good hands with the amazing teachers, paras, support staff, and leadership.”
The district is looking forward to welcoming Metz into his new role where he is expected to bring his leadership skills and dedication to secondary education across MCPASD.
