Anthony Nino Amato has formally requested a recount for the District 19 aldermanic race in Madison. This petition was filed with the City of Madison Clerk’s Office following the close results of the April 1 Spring Election, where the vote difference between candidates fell below 1 percent. This tight margin has made Amato eligible for a vote recount in Wards 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, and 96. Importantly, there will be no charge for either candidate regarding this recount process.

Acting City Clerk Michael Haas has instructed the Board of Canvassers to start the recount on Thursday, April 10, at 9 a.m. The recount is scheduled to take place in the Madison Municipal Building.
