The City of Middleton Public Works Department has issued several updates regarding ongoing and upcoming road construction projects affecting local traffic in the area.
A new closure will affect Mendota Avenue, from the UW Health Parking Lot to Oakwood Place, between October 8 and October 24, 2025. The closure is necessary for a sanitary sewer connection related to Wells Fargo. During this period, only local traffic will be permitted, and signboards will direct drivers to detour routes. An emergency vehicle lane will remain open throughout the closure.
High Road near Spring Hill Drive and Caneel Trail continues to experience daily closures for sewer construction work. According to the latest update on October 3, 2025, these closures occur during daytime hours and the road reopens before 3:00 p.m. each day. There is no work scheduled for weekends. The adjacent path is also closed for safety reasons. Residents retain access to their driveways but are advised to allow extra time when traveling in the area, especially during school pick-up and drop-off times. The daily closures are expected through Friday, October 10, 2025, depending on weather conditions and project progress.
The Parmenter Street Reconstruction Project extends from just north of Century Avenue to just south of Greenbriar Road and has been underway since June 23. As of October 3, binder course paving is complete; however, the roadway remains open only to local traffic as needed and is not yet open to full traffic flow. Surface paving is scheduled for next week with completion targeted for mid-October if weather permits. Local access for residents and businesses—including WayForward—is maintained during construction, though minor delays may occur when flaggers are present.
Additionally, a no parking order remains in effect from July 1 through October 10 on High Road (both sides) from Spring Hill Drive southward by 125 feet; both sides of the 7000 and 7100 blocks of Spring Hill Drive; both sides of Spring Hill Drive from Lynn Street eastward by 185 feet; both sides of Lynn Street between Spring Hill Drive and Graber Road; and both sides of Graber Road from Lynn Street westward by 180 feet.
