Jennifer Magee, an educator at Northside Elementary, has been honored as a 2025 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Teacher Fellow. Magee is among 114 teachers in Wisconsin to receive this award, which entails a $6,000 personal grant and an additional $6,000 grant for her school.
Magee's nomination came from two former parents, and she was chosen from a large pool of applicants across the state. The Teacher Fellowship recognizes educators who exhibit leadership, passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire students. A statewide committee of civic leaders and educational representatives reviews nominations to determine the recipients.
“The Herb Kohl award is one of the most respected recognitions in Wisconsin education,” stated Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue. “We are proud to have Jennifer represent our district in this year’s class of honorees. It’s a reflection of the outstanding teaching happening in our schools every day.”
Northside Principal Sylla Zarov remarked, “Jennifer’s commitment to her students and the greater school community is truly inspiring. She brings energy, heart, and deep professional skill to everything she does. We’re thrilled to see her receive this well-deserved recognition.”
The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation, founded by former U.S. Senator and philanthropist Herb Kohl, has awarded over $40 million since 1990 to support educators, principals, students, and schools throughout Wisconsin.
Congratulations to Jennifer Magee for this significant recognition.
