Middleton High School's DECA team demonstrated a strong performance at the recent State Career Development Conference held in Lake Geneva. Out of the 30 participants from the school, 25 have qualified for the forthcoming International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, Florida, set to happen at the end of April.
At the conference, students engaged in role plays and marketing-related examinations to evaluate their understanding of marketing concepts. Bob Hutchison, the DECA advisor for Middleton High School, expressed his pride in the team's achievements, stating, "To have 25 out of 30 make it to ICDC just shows how talented these students are. This will be my largest group of qualifiers going to ICDC. I'm excited to see how they do in Orlando."
Among the successful students, junior Crystal Huang stood out by finishing first in both of her events. Hutchison noted, "Crystal definitely had a great conference," further commending the students' overall performance and expressing his pride in serving as their advisor.
This conference also marked the conclusion of senior Nuha Khatri's term as state president of Wisconsin DECA. She had served as the state president for the 2024-25 school year. Hutchison remarked on her leadership, stating, "With this being Nuha's last official duties as state president, it was neat to see the chapter do so well. The students definitely gave her a great send off."
