Efforts to extend bus rapid transit in Madison continue with the next phase introducing improvements along the north-south Rapid Route B. This phase, which is significant for residents around Route B, aims to enhance the public transportation network in the area.
The city has organized a series of public meetings to inform the community and gather feedback on the proposed project. These meetings are set to cover details of both the Rapid Route B initiative and the reconstruction project on Park Street.
Key meetings include a virtual session on April 30 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Two in-person sessions are scheduled: May 13 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Madison Labor Temple, and an additional meeting on May 15 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Fitchburg City Hall.
Further discussions centered on bus rapid transit will take place on May 1, at the Student Activity Center at UW-Madison from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and later on the same day at Warner Park Community Recreation Center from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to participate. More information is available at madisonbrt.com, and inquiries can be directed to BRT@cityofmadison.com.
