Contractors have initiated upgrades on payment equipment at City-operated garages, with work set to occur throughout the week. Despite ongoing upgrades, garages are expected to operate normally, though minor delays may occur during peak hours when lanes are temporarily unavailable.

The work, which began Monday afternoon, is planned to extend into the evenings each day throughout the week. Specific areas affected include exit lanes, Pay-on-Foot stations, and cashier stations. "Rolling closures of individual exit lanes will occur while work is performed," according to the release. Drivers are advised to follow signage to navigate through open lanes.

The tentative schedule for the garage upgrades starts Monday, April 21, and continues until Friday, April 25. Locations undergoing upgrades include South Livingston Street Garage, Capital Square North Garage, Overture Center Garage, Wilson Street Garage & State Street Campus Garage, and State Street Capital Garage.

Once the upgrades are finalized, customers of City-operated garages will benefit from enhanced payment options. An expansion on accepted payment methods means that, in addition to Visa and MasterCard, patrons will now have the ability to use Discover card, chip payments, and Tap to Pay.

Individuals interested in more information on City-operated garages and lots are encouraged to seek additional details.
