The Madison Arts Commission is reaching out to the community for input on public art ideas for the Park Badger redevelopment, initiated as part of the City's Percent for Arts Program. The City’s Community Development Authority (CDA) is managing the redevelopment project at the intersection of S. Park St. and W. Badger Rd., which is expected to introduce several significant additions to the area.

This multi-phase redevelopment will include a variety of enhancements such as hundreds of affordable homes, a new facility for Public Health Madison & Dane County, and a fire station. It aims to bolster other recent projects like the Black Business Hub, Centro Hispano’s facility, the Center for Black Excellence, and a parking structure for Village on Park.

Opportunities for public art arise primarily in a proposed public greenway that will link the Madison College Goodman Campus with the Village on Park. This greenway is situated between the initial two buildings of the ongoing project and is seen as a vital component of the site's overall development.

Residents are encouraged to complete a new survey aimed at collecting opinions on preferred artistic themes and styles that align with community interests. These survey responses are anticipated to shape the comprehensive art plan for the Park Badger site.
