The City of Madison Clerk’s Office has initiated the mailing of absentee ballots for the upcoming June 17 Special Election. This election is set to fill the District 1 seat on the Dane County Board of Supervisors. Voters who have previously requested absentee ballots should ensure their timely return so they can be counted on Election Day.
To ensure proper processing, voters must complete all highlighted sections on the absentee ballot envelope. The requirements include sealing the envelope, signing it as a voter, having a witness sign it, printing the witness's name, and providing the witness's address.
The Clerk’s Office advises voters to mail back their completed absentee ballots promptly. Additionally, District 1 voters have alternatives for returning their ballots. They may deliver them in person during regular business hours at the Clerk’s Office or use a designated ballot drop box. This drop box will be available starting Thursday, May 30, outside Fire Station 1 located at 316 W. Dayton St.
