Early Thursday, the Wisconsin Legislature approved the state's biennial budget, which includes a fee schedule for workers' compensation. Shortly after, Governor Evers signed it into law.

Scott Manley, Executive Vice President of Government Affairs at Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC), responded to this development. He stated: "For years, Wisconsin’s business community has suffered from unreasonably high workers’ compensation medical costs, making our employers less competitive. Today, WMC applauds Speaker Vos, Leader LeMahieu, and Governor Evers for their successful efforts to curb these costs by enacting a fee schedule for hospital charges."

Manley emphasized that WMC has long supported the introduction of a fee schedule and expressed optimism about its potential benefits for employers in controlling medical expenses. He added: "This is a positive step towards controlling medical costs in the state."
