Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC), the state chamber of commerce, is partnering with local chambers across Wisconsin to mark September as Chamber of Commerce Month. The initiative aims to highlight the contributions of chambers in business advocacy, economic development, professional resources, tourism promotion, and community connections.
“Wisconsin is home to more than 265 local chambers that are cornerstones in their local communities, providing necessary support to small and large businesses alike. That support, in turn, fosters our state’s economic wellbeing and growth,” said WMC President & CEO Kurt R. Bauer. “Chambers are foundational to the success of Wisconsin.”
Governor Tony Evers has issued a proclamation at the request of the Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives (WCCE), designating September as Chamber of Commerce Month. In his statement, Evers said, “This month, the state of Wisconsin joins all Wisconsinites in commending the local chambers of commerce across the state that make Wisconsin a better place to live, work , raise a family, own a business, and more.”
The WCCE works to promote business interests and foster a competitive climate by supporting chamber professionals with education and advocacy tools for engagement at various levels of government.
“Chambers of commerce fuel stronger communities by championing business, building connections, and driving growth,” said WCCE Chairman and Fox Cities Chamber President and CEO Becky Bartoszek. “Across Wisconsin, chambers are delivering real results for local enterprises and creating places where both businesses and people thrive. Chamber of Commerce Month is the moment to recognize and celebrate that impact.”
Throughout September, local chambers will hold events such as social media campaigns and member outreach activities. The observance will conclude with the WCCE Annual Conference & Retreat from September 22-24 in Green Lake.
