Forbes has once again recognized UW Health as one of the best employers by state, highlighting its standing in both Wisconsin and Illinois. The ranking, presented by Forbes in partnership with Statista, is based on a comprehensive survey that gathered input from over 160,000 employees at companies with at least 500 workers across the United States. Over a three-year period, about 4.4 million employer ratings were collected to evaluate workplace excellence.

UW Health improved its position this year, moving up to 21st place in Wisconsin from last year's 33rd spot. In Illinois, the organization rose to fifth place from tenth and was noted as the highest-ranked health system in that state.

Betsy Clough, system vice president and chief human resources officer at UW Health, attributed this achievement to the organization's efforts to support professional growth and foster an inclusive environment. “Our goal is to make UW Health a place where people want to build their careers in Madison, in Rockford and across the region,” she said.

The Forbes rankings use both personal and public evaluations. Employees’ willingness to recommend their workplace contributes to personal scores, while public scores reflect opinions from those familiar with the company or working within the same industry.

Rosa Jeschke, vice president of human resources at UW Health in northern Illinois, acknowledged the significance of being recognized by both staff and community members. “We’re honored to be recognized by our employees and communities as one of the best places to work in the state," Jeschke said. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see our employees’ dedication reflected in the way they, and the broader community, view UW Health. Their unwavering commitment to our patients, to one another and to the communities we serve is what truly makes this recognition possible.”
