The City of Madison Clerk’s Office will mark National Voter Registration Day on September 16 by organizing a week of events focused on voter preparation for the 2026 election cycle. The initiative is conducted in collaboration with the Madison Public Library, UW–Madison, and the Urban League of Greater Madison.

Throughout the week, voter registration drives will be held at various sites across Madison. These events will also include poll worker recruitment and opportunities for residents to ask questions about voting procedures.

"Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy. We want to ensure every Madisonian is ready to make their voice heard and that we have a well-trained team of poll workers ready to help administer secure, transparent, and accessible elections," according to a statement from the Clerk’s Office.

The activities aim to encourage civic participation and strengthen election administration within the city.
