The City of Verona is preparing to host the final round of public open houses for its Envision Verona Comprehensive Plan. The events are scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, 2025, and will give community members a chance to review draft recommendations that aim to guide the city’s future growth and development.

Two drop-in sessions will be held on the same day: one at the Verona Senior Center from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and another at the Verona Public Library from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Residents can attend either session according to their convenience.

These open houses will present information on topics such as downtown development, city-wide land use, and transportation. City staff and representatives from planning firm MKSK will be available to discuss recommendations and answer questions. The events are designed for families, with activities planned for children.

Verona Mayor Luke Diaz expressed gratitude toward residents who have participated in the process so far. “I want to thank Verona residents for the thoughtful feedback,” said Diaz.

City Administrator Jamie Aulik emphasized the importance of community participation in shaping city policy. “Community voices are at the heart of this comprehensive plan update,” said Aulik. “These open houses are one of the final opportunities for residents to weigh in, and the feedback we gather will directly shape Verona’s future. Whether you care about parks, transportation, or downtown, your input matters.”

Earlier this summer, officials released a State of the Community Report summarizing current conditions and community feedback collected during earlier phases of Envision Verona. The report is available online at https://tinyurl.com/EnisionVeronaDocument.
