This fall, the University of Wisconsin–Madison is welcoming a new class of students representing all 72 counties in Wisconsin. The university has seen record interest from prospective students, which it attributes to efforts focused on increasing access and affordability.
University officials highlight that initiatives designed to make higher education more accessible have contributed to the diverse makeup of the incoming class. Programs aimed at reducing financial barriers continue to play a significant role in drawing applicants from across the state.
Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin said, "Our commitment to ensuring that talented students from every corner of Wisconsin can pursue their dreams at UW–Madison is stronger than ever."
The university’s outreach and scholarship opportunities are part of a broader strategy to serve students regardless of their geographic or economic background. As the academic year begins, campus leaders emphasize their ongoing dedication to supporting both new and returning students.
