Catholic Diocese of Madison recently issued the following announcement
Event: Lay Them to Rest
When: November 7, 2020
You are invited to lay the cremated remains of your loved one to rest on sacred ground with a beautiful Catholic committal on November 7, free of charge. Perpetual record keeping is included, so that you and your family, even if they are unable to attend the committal, will always be able to locate your loved one.
The Catholic Church permits cremation under certain conditions, but does not permit the scattering, dividing, comingling, or private retention of cremated remains. This event is intended to help lower any barriers to performing the final act of mercy.
Registration is required so that we are able to keep accurate records.
