The Badgers are ready to face Arizona State at the Las Vegas Bowl, and the team hit the road officially on Dec. 31.
"I texted @Melvingordon25 and @DGO23_ asking for one word to describe @BraelonAllen. Gordon's response: 'Unpredictable' Ogunbowale wrote: 'Next.' My one-on-one with the @BadgerFootball freshman phenom, who appears to be the next great one at 'Running Back U,'" tweeted Stephan Watson.
There were multiple issues preventing some members of the coaching staff from traveling with the team to Las Vegas over Christmas, including running back coach Gary Brown. So far, the only change in the roster is that John Torchio will be starting in place of Colin Wilder since Wilder suffered an injury recently.
Wisconsin's athletic director will also miss the game after testing positive for COVID-19. Defensive end Matt Henningsen is not traveling with the team but is scheduled to arrive before the game.
Former UW player Garrett Groshek was brought in to fill Brown's place, and the team remains excited about the whole trip.
"We're not sure if he will be with us or not," Brian Lucas, director of football brand communications, told reporters.
