There will be no collections by the Streets Division on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, and Wednesday, December 25, 2024. This is due to the observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The drop-off sites will also remain closed on these days.

Residents are advised to follow specific instructions for trash and recycling collection during this two-day holiday period. Collection schedules can be accessed on the Streets Division's website at www.cityofmadison.com/Streets.

For those whose trash and recycling are typically collected on Monday or Tuesday, carts should be placed at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024. Residents should consult their collection schedule calendar to confirm if both trash and recycling carts need to be set out. Late carts may not be collected.

Similarly, residents with Wednesday or Thursday collection days should have their carts ready by 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2024. As before, checking the collection schedule calendar is recommended to ensure proper cart placement.

The Streets Division drop-off sites will resume operations on Thursday, December 26, 2024. The Sycamore and South Point locations will open for normal winter hours. Residents should verify hours and locations at www.cityofmadison.com/DropOffSites before visiting.

Trash and recycling services scheduled for Friday, December 27, 2024, will proceed as usual unless severe weather causes delays or cancellations.

To stay informed about changes in the collection schedule due to holidays or extreme weather conditions, residents can sign up for email alerts through the Trash and Recycling Schedule Updates list available on the Streets Division’s page or via the City of Madison email list page.

Further details about all services offered by the Streets Division can be found at www.cityofmadison.com/streets.
