MADISON, Wis. – The Madison Police Department is now accepting applications for this year’s Community Academy.

The program is designed to give people an understanding of the department’s values, goals and operations.“We are really going to focus on the ‘why’ in this academy. Why do we respond to certain calls the way we do? Why is staffing handled the way it is? Why are homicide investigations complex?” said Lt. Lori Chaleki, who is overseeing the upcoming session.“We love our community and just want them to get a working knowledge of the law enforcement industry.”
