The City of Madison Parks Division is actively engaging area residents to contribute to the shaping of the Park and Open Space Plan (POSP) that will guide public park policies and decisions within the city. According to the City of Madison Parks Division, the purpose of the POSP is to inform and direct public park policies and facility decisions in Madison.
In an effort to gather input from the community, the City of Madison Parks Division, in collaboration with MSA Professional Services, Inc., is hosting a series of open houses at various locations in the city. These drop-in sessions are scheduled for April and May, providing residents with the opportunity to share their visions for parks and open spaces.
As stated by the City of Madison Parks Division, the planning process for the POSP is expected to continue throughout 2024, indicating a long-term commitment to involving the community in the decision-making process. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about the project's progress by visiting the Parks Projects website, which will offer updates, input opportunities, and details on the review and approval process.
Furthermore, the City of Madison Parks Division is open to suggestions on how to expand awareness about the POSP. "Madison Parks welcomes your ideas for additional ways to get the word out and asks that you share this information with all interested in the POSP," expressed the Parks Division.
Residents interested in contributing to the future of Madison's parks and open spaces are encouraged to attend the upcoming open house sessions and stay connected with the Parks Division for more information on the POSP.
