Members of the Madison Common Council are invited to join this month's Westside Community Connections session, featuring a presentation by the Department of Transportation and Metro Transit. The session, scheduled for Thursday, April 18 at 6:00 PM via Zoom, will focus on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system being developed in the City of Madison.

Tom Lynch, Director of Transportation, and Shanae Meacham, Outreach Specialist of Metro Transit, will provide updates on the cost of BRT, the timeline for its operation, and information regarding vehicle and stop accessibility. According to the announcement, the BRT system aims to improve access to jobs, reduce travel times, and enhance transit equity in the region.

Residents are encouraged to attend the session to receive firsthand updates on the progress of the BRT project and to engage with the presenters. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a limited Q&A session at the end of the presentation, with a request to keep questions concise.
