MADISON, WI -- Families in southwest Madison and beyond are encouraged to mark their calendars for the upcoming Southwest Family Resource Fair at Meadowridge Library on Saturday, May 11 from 11am-3pm.
The event aims to bring together various organizations and resources available in the community, offering attendees the opportunity to learn more and connect with essential services. According to the organizers, "Families living in southwest Madison and beyond can stop by Meadowridge Library throughout the day to learn more about the organizations and resources available in their community."
A diverse range of partners will be present to provide information, distribute free items, and facilitate connections to services. In addition, there will be engaging activities for all ages, including a photo booth, face painting, art activities, light snacks, and music. Each attendee will also receive a free We Read bag, ensuring a memorable experience for all participants.
Among the highlights of the fair is the showcase of products created by a group of talented teenagers who have been involved in a brand merchandising workshop at the library. Attendees will have the opportunity to support these young artists by purchasing items like stickers, keychains, tote bags, and buttons. "Attendees can support youth artists by browsing or purchasing stickers, keychains, tote bags, buttons and other items made by and for teenagers in the community. All sales will be cash-only."
The event will feature information tables from community partners focusing on critical resources such as health, wellness, employment, and transportation. Additionally, organizations like Common Wealth Development, Hy-Vee, Madison Metro Transit, and others will be in attendance to engage with the community.
The Southwest Family Resource Fair at Meadowridge Library is open to all, and "No registration is required to attend." The event is made possible through the support of the Madison Public Library Foundation. More information can be found at madpl.org/southwestresourcefair.
