Madison College-Reedsburg is gearing up to host the annual Celebrate A Nurse 5K run/walk on Saturday, May 4, to support nursing students' education. The event aims to celebrate and honor the dedication of nurses while raising funds for future healthcare professionals.
The event, which coincides with National Nurses Week, will feature a timed 5K race with prizes for different age groups, as well as a 1-mile fun run. Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, post-race treats, and the opportunity to meet the event's mascot, Wolfie.
Shawna Marquardt, Madison College Dean of Regional Campuses, expressed gratitude for the community's support in a statement, saying, "We thank everyone for supporting our Reedsburg nursing students and honoring and celebrating the hard work, compassion, and dedication of nurses who make a profound impact on the lives of so many."
Last year's event successfully raised enough funds to support ten students in their nursing education. The upcoming Celebrate A Nurse 5K is expected to attract hundreds of participants, including Madison College Reedsburg nursing students, alumni, and community members. The event, which debuted in 2022, has been instrumental in boosting the Reedsburg nursing program with the support of students, faculty, and the community.
Those interested in participating in the Madison College-Reedsburg Celebrate A Nurse 5K can register by Friday, May 3, for the event taking place on Saturday, May 4, at 9:30 a.m. The event will be held at Madison College Reedsburg, located at 300 Alexander Avenue in Reedsburg, Wisconsin.
