Stevens Construction Corp. has announced the closure of a segment of the Southwest Bike Path in Madison for crane removal. The closure is set to begin on Monday, May 6th at 6:00 am and will affect the path from East Campus Mall to West Washington Ave. The removal of the tower crane located at 750 Regent St necessitates this temporary closure. The closure will last until 5:00 pm on Friday, May 10th, as noted by the construction company.

During this period, cyclists and pedestrians are advised that the affected section of the Southwest Bike Path will be closed to thru traffic. A detour route has been established to ensure the smooth flow of traffic. Those utilizing the path are directed to follow the detour by moving north on East Campus Mall, continuing east on W Dayton St to N Bedford St, and then reconnecting to the bike path on W Washington Ave.

The detour route is put in place to minimize inconvenience to users of the Southwest Bike Path while the crane removal operation is carried out. It is important for all cyclists and pedestrians to follow the designated detour for their safety and to avoid any disruptions during this period.

This closure serves as a necessary measure to facilitate the removal of the tower crane and ensure the safety of all individuals utilizing the Southwest Bike Path in that area.
