Madison College-Fort Atkinson is gearing up to host the annual Metal Mania event on Saturday, May 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will showcase the talents of students in the Metal Fabrication with Welding Bolt-On program, where they earn two degrees in one year. One of the highlights of the event is a thrilling six-team Metal Fabrication and Welding competition, with this year's theme revolving around Wisconsin Farms.
In the words of Chelsey Bauer, Campus Manager of Fort Atkinson and Watertown, "We express our sincere appreciation to the East region community and sponsors for their generous support of this event and our students. This occasion presents a wonderful chance for the community to come together and actively participate with the campus, students, and fellow community members."
Competing teams include students from the Fort Atkinson, Johnson Creek, and Marshall School Districts, Madison College students, and community members. Attendees can look forward to watching laser, welding, and blacksmith demonstrations throughout the day. The event will also feature activities for all ages, the opportunity to meet Madison College mascot Wolfie, and indulge in delicious food.
The second annual Metal Mania is expected to draw hundreds of participants, including Madison College Fort Atkinson students, alumni, and community members. Programming experts will be on hand to showcase the various offerings at Madison College Fort Atkinson, such as Metal Fabrication, LPN, and CNA programs.
Overall, the Metal Mania event promises to be a day filled with creativity, skill, and community spirit, bringing together students, faculty, and the public in celebration of metal fabrication and welding.
