The City of Madison Streets Division has announced that there will be no recycling, trash, brush, or large item collections on Monday, May 27, 2024, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. The Streets Division drop-off sites will also remain closed on this day.

Residents who normally have their trash and recycling collected on Mondays are advised to place their scheduled cart(s) at the curb for pickup by 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. The same applies to residents with a regularly scheduled Tuesday collection day. It is crucial to note that carts set out after 6:30 a.m. may miss the collection opportunity and residents will need to wait until the next scheduled pickup day for their carts to be emptied.

To ensure awareness of any changes due to the holiday schedule, residents can check the collection calendar available on the Streets Division’s collection schedule website at www.cityofmadison.com/CollectionSchedule. For those who prefer a physical copy, a calendar can be mailed upon request by contacting the Streets Division offices.

The Streets Division drop-off sites will reopen during their posted hours on Tuesday, May 28. Information regarding their hours, locations, rules, and materials they accept can be found at www.cityofmadison.com/DropOffSites.

Large item collection by the Streets Division will not occur on Memorial Day but will resume from Tuesday, May 28.
