Starting on Tuesday, May 28, University Avenue, from Capital Avenue to Heim Avenue, will experience several traffic pattern changes due to the ongoing flood mitigation and restoration project for the Mendota-Grassman Greenway. Most stages of the project will reduce both directions to one lane on University Avenue. Authorities urge travelers to exercise caution and pay attention to changing traffic control measures throughout the project's duration.

The proposed work includes restoring greenways adjacent to culverts on Camelot Drive and University Avenue. These areas will be graded and restored with native seed and matting following the installation of the culverts. Until then, water will pool in the greenway behind the culverts. Once installed, the culverts are expected to enhance water flow efficiency towards the lake.

Further details can be found on the city project website at Mendota Grassman Greenway System Project Website. The traffic control changes are expected from May 28 through October 1.
