Madison Public Libraries will undergo several closures and an adjustment in operating hours in May.

The libraries will be closed on May 26-27 for Memorial Day and again on May 31 for an all-staff in-service day. Additionally, Sunday hours ended for the season on May 19 and will resume after Labor Day on September 8.

Three branches—Central, Goodman South Madison, and Lakeview Libraries—had been offering Sunday hours from 1-5 p.m. before the seasonal change.

During these closures, patrons can still access LINKcat to place holds, check records, or renew items. The library's online collections, including ebooks and downloadable audiobooks from Wisconsin's Digital Library, Kanopy streaming video, Flipster magazines, and other resources remain available. Book returns will continue to operate 24/7 with Pinney Library providing a drive-through book drop.

For those needing assistance while the libraries are closed, 211 Wisconsin is available to connect individuals with food, shelter, safety, or other community resources. Additional information about City of Madison holiday closures can be found online.
