Catholic Vote President Brian Burch said political figures in the Biden Administration are “weaponizing the government to target their political opponents” and further their pro-abortion agenda.
"This news story is just one example of how things are getting worse due to the radical leftists in the Biden administration weaponizing the government to target their political opponents,” Burch told the Madison Reporter. “And there is no more principled threat to leftist ideology than those who defend unborn babies."
Members of the Biden administration have already imprisoned twelve pro-life Americans for protesting abortion. The Department of Justice (DOJ) also filed a lawsuit against two pro-life groups on the ground that their protests were “intimidating,” according to a Life News article.
Biden officials seek tens of thousands of dollars in "fines" from Citizens for a Pro-Life Society and Red Rose Rescue for violating the "Freedom of access to clinic entrances" law, or the FACE act. The DOJ is also seeking financial damages, claiming $20,516 for the first violation and $30,868 for the following offenses of the FACE Act.
Monica Miller, leader of the Citizens for a Pro-Life Society group, told Life News "[we] never block anything or anyone–and if the Department of Justice is coming after us for our peaceful–life-saving efforts it’s because they will simply play fast and loose with the FACE language having to do with ‘physical obstruction’ that prevents ‘freedom of movement.’”
Madison, Wisconsin-based Catholic Vote is an advocacy organization that wants to “inspire every Catholic in America to live out the truths of our faith in public life,” according to the group’s website. Founded in 2008, its president is Brian Burch.
