MADISON, WI -- Local author Amy Pease will headline the 24th Annual Book Club Café hosted by the Friends of Madison Public Library on June 27 at Central Library. Pease will discuss her debut mystery novel *Northwoods*, set in Northern Wisconsin, which was described by People magazine as “a riveting debut by a nurse practitioner with an insider's view of the opioid epidemic."

“The Book Club Café is an annual event sponsored by the Friends of Madison Public Library to give book club members and individual reading enthusiasts an opportunity to get together and show their support for the library system,” said lead organizer and Chair of the Monroe Street Library League Carol “Orange” Schroeder.

Attendees will receive coffee, tea, and pastries from Blue Plate Catering. Copies of *Northwoods* will be available for purchase thanks to A Room of One’s Own Bookstore. Participants can also enter a book gift bag raffle for a small additional fee, which offers a chance to win one of eight mystery bags full of new or almost-new titles.

One popular returning feature is the complimentary Book Club Favorites booklet that each attendee receives. “This booklet contains titles submitted by book club members with their registration. So it’s full of great reads and serves as an invaluable guide when looking for inspiration for what to check out next from the library,” said Schroeder.
