President of Catholic Vote organization Brian Burch said “it is a disgrace that our special forces fool with woke garbage” after social media pages like the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command made posts to celebrate the beginning of pride month.
"At a time when our borders are open and military age men are entering the country by the tens of thousands, there is unrest in the Middle East and China is speaking openly of taking Taiwan, it is a disgrace that our special forces fool with woke garbage and LGBT propaganda,” Burch told Madison Reporter.
The official Facebook page for the U.S. Navy SEALs and Naval Special Warfare Command (USNSWC) made a post at the beginning of June that referred to Pride Month.
The Libs of TikTok page on X said "The Navy SEALs have gone woke. Our elite special forces. This is terrifying.”
The USNSWC account restricted their comment section after the backlash began.
According to the New York Post, one person said: “This is a slap in the face of every special warfare operator that has put their lives on the line for our nation.” one person wrote.
June has also been deemed as PTSD Awareness month, and the USNSWC made a post for PTSD awareness two days after their Pride Month post. According to the New York Post, the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Space Forde did not mention the beginning of "pride" month.
BizPacReview.com noted that the USNSWC was criticized for many because of its post, with commenters expressing disgust and disbelief. According to BizPacReview, "Under the Biden administration, the Armed Forces have drawn criticism for seeming to have more of a focus on becoming a reflection of the values of the Democratic Party’s base with transgender and critical race theory indoctrination, drag shows and virtue signaling that have decimated moral and distracted from what used to be the primary mission of keeping America safe in an increasingly dangerous world."
Madison, Wisconsin-based Catholic Vote is an advocacy organization that wants to “inspire every Catholic in America to live out the truths of our faith in public life,” according to the group’s website. Founded in 2008, its president is Brian Burch.
