There will be no recycling, trash, brush, or large item collections performed by the City of Madison Streets Division on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. The Streets Division drop-off sites will also be closed.

Madison residents who normally have their trash and recycling collected on Wednesdays should instead place their scheduled cart(s) out for pickup by 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Residents with Thursday collection schedules should also have their cart(s) out for emptying by 6:30 a.m. on June 20. Carts set out after this time may miss their scheduled collection and will need to wait until the next scheduled pickup day.

For those unsure if the holiday affects their collection schedule, information is available at www.cityofmadison.com/CollectionSchedule.

The Streets Division drop-off sites will reopen for their posted hours on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Information about locations, operating hours, and accepted materials can be found on the Streets Division website.

Residents with a Sunday, June 16 set-out date for large items should follow their normal schedule. Collection occurs during the work week following the set-out Sunday as per standard operations. Large item collection will occur as usual on June 17 and June 18 but will pause for the holiday on June 19. If your scheduled large item pickup has not occurred by then, please keep your items out for collection as crews will resume pickups on Thursday, June 20.

Additional information about all services provided by Streets Division staff can be found at www.cityofmadison.com/streets.
