Among Focus on Energy Award Recipients
MADISON – Senator Robert Cowles released the following statement after Focus on Energy, the state’s energy efficiency program, named ten recipients of their annual awards. Among the awardees were two entities located in Northeast Wisconsin – one with the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin and another with Automated Energy Solutions, Inc. in Green Bay – as well as a state government entity with the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
“Homeowners, businesses, and government bodies should always be on the lookout for better ways to manage their use of energy. It’s better for their wallets, better for the environment, and may help lessen the burden of energy rate increases,” Senator Cowles stated. “Each of these recipients deserves praise for finding more efficient ways to carry out their mission, and it’s especially heartening to see two groups from Northeast Wisconsin – the Menominee Tribe and Automated Energy Solutions – among these awardees.”
“The Focus on Energy program as a whole has been a massive success. For every dollar spent through its programs, $4.08 has been generated in total economic benefits that stays in our communities, according to the latest independent program analysis. Partnerships like these are a win-win for the public and the groups overseeing them. My thanks go out to Focus on Energy for their work in backing these innovations, and the leaders of the Menominee Tribe and Automated Energy Solutions for their accomplishments.”
