MADISON – The Wisconsin Supreme Court has overturned a previous decision that restricted the use of drop boxes for returning absentee ballots by municipal elections clerks.

Rep. Lisa Subeck released a statement in response to the ruling: “After years of attempts by Donald Trump and Republicans to cast doubt on election results through unfounded allegations and wild speculation, coupled with efforts to gain an advantage in Wisconsin by limiting absentee voting and suppressing the votes of many Wisconsinites, this decision is a significant victory for voters and for our democracy. Absentee ballot drop boxes are a secure, easy, and accessible way to ensure every eligible voter has the opportunity to exercise their fundamental right to vote.”

Rep. Subeck has represented the 78th Assembly District since 2015 and serves as Chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
